Here at jellybean, we’re committed to supporting local projects and being an active member in the Leatherhead community. That’s why, this year, we are proud to have offered our support to a local charity, Leatherhead Youth Project (LYP), to sponsor its suitably foodie 5-A-Day Campaign.

Debra Retail Challenge

DEBRA Retail Challenge

A couple of weeks ago three teams of beans participated in the retail challenge to fundraise for the charity DEBRA. DEBRA’s retail challenge raises awareness of the condition and valuable monies to #StopThePain. As well as donations, the awareness generated helps spread the message about EB and encourage others to get involved.

I Swam the Channel!

As a previous competitive swimmer when I saw this fundraising opportunity for Macmillan, I felt drawn to take on the challenge and help support this charity.

Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million. Macmillan is an amazing charity that is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial and emotional support.

We’ve Raised over £2,000 for DEBRA UK!

We’re proud to share that jellybean has raised over £2,000 for DEBRA UK.

Our intrepid beans Abi Fraser and Liv Martin took part in a thrilling ‘Flight to Fight EB’ wing-walk at Headcorn Airfield (Sun 11th June), which saw them amount a plane and soar at speeds of 120mph through the sky to raise money for a great cause!

DEBRA UK helps people living with the rare, and extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’ with essential patient support. Smashing their fundraising goal, so far our duo have raised an incredible £2,100 in support of this pioneering charity’s £5m ‘A Life Free of Pain’ appeal with donations still open!

HA Summer Challenge

Hospitality Action Summer Challenge

As a Hospitality Action Ambassador, I was delighted when the bean team was up for this year’s Summer Challenge, sponsored by CH & Co. As they say, this is not our first rodeo as we have taken part in and even sponsored previous challenges for HA. This time around, we have managed to rally 13 budding beans to run, walk, swim, and cycle their way to our goal of 500 miles. Hopefully helping to reach HA’s goal of 75,000 miles and £150,000 between 9th and 19th June. Of course, it would be when we finally get a bit of sun, but with our sunscreen applied we have all been busy clocking up the miles. Whether dog walking, getting off the train a stop early, hitting the pavement for an early morning run, or dusting off the bike for a weekend ride we have ‘bean’ doing our bit!

The fact that Hospitality Action is such a great cause has definitely motivated the team, as the £150,000 target could:

Jellybean x LCH

2022 was a challenging year for many people, and if the pandemic taught us anything, it’s the importance of communities coming together to get through difficult times. I recently became aware of one project nearby that is working to bring together the community in North Leatherhead.

Passion and purpose drive performance.

I have many passions in life but top 3 on my list must be 1) my business jellybean, 2) my sport golf and 3) doing good whilst having fun.  No offence to my partner Ian or my dog Kenzo they of course are right up there too.  Last Friday I had the opportunity to combine all three of these passions by sponsoring and organising a ladies charity golf day at Sunningdale Heath where we raised much needed funds for the Ukraine Crisis Children’s Appeal via Plan International.
